Health Education Teacher Education
Through teaching, research and service the Department of Health Studies is dedicated to preparing exemplary practitioners who will function as leaders in the School Health environment, in teaching, assessment and curriculum development. Students are taught the most up-to-date pedagogical methods to become effective School Health Educators. The faculty who teach in the School Health Teacher Education Program are leaders in their field.
Our Health Education Teacher Education program has received National Recognition from the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Simply put, our program is accredited and has received quality assurance through an external peer review. Because our program is accredited, out students are guaranteed that we have demonstrated we meet the standards of best practices in Health Education Teacher Education. Historically, our program has a regional and national reputation for valuing the accreditation process and being Nationally Recognized.
The Department of Health Studies at East Stroudsburg University is an active partner in the economic and community development of Northeast Pennsylvania, and a recognized regional center of academic excellence in Public Health, Health Education and Health Teacher Preparation.
