Tasting Tuesdays
Future Tasting Tuesday events will feature food, beverages, confectionaries and condiments made in the Poconos. Each event will showcase the product story, a product sampling and ample time for innovative conversations.
The inaugural Tasting Tuesday event "ESU Innovates and Educates with Craft Beer Entrepreneurs" featured speaker Dr. Alison Feeney, author of the book For the Love of Beer: Pennsylvania’s Breweries. A brief overview of the program is featured below:
Dr. Alison Feeney is a professor of geography and earth sciences at Shippensburg University.
Additional presenters included regional craft beer entrepreneurs who shared their
business and creative stories of the brewing industry: Shawnee Craft Brewing Company,
Barley Creek Brewing Company, and Mountain View Vineyard, Winery and Brewery. A pop-up
craft beer tasting room experience was available for students, beer entrepreneurs,
and faculty who were 21 years and older and enhanced the Tasting Tuesday educational
experience.
ESU Innovates and Educates with Craft Beer Entrepreneurs is supported by an Out of the Box grant funded by the Office of the Provost at ESU.
The grant was awarded to Dr. Nancy VanArsdale, Professor of English, Dr. Andrea McClanahan, Professor of Communication, and Dr. Stanley Li-Ming Chiang, associate professor, Department Chair, Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management.
