ESU has given me valuable opportunities for professional growth through a unique approach that includes coursework and fieldwork from the first year. You're driven to bring out the best in the next generation of students and we are also. ESU is committed to developing educators who represent, respect and relate to the diverse needs of today's learners, creating a community of learning that is student-ready and focused on the individual learner.

We're the only education preparation program in Northeast PA to be nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and proud of our collaborative partnerships with 40+ local school entities. We're creating Warrior Teachers for today, and tomorrow!

  • Internships & Training

    • Over 1000 hours of mentored classroom opportunities with current K-12 students providing authentic experiences to merge theory and practice
    • Four stages of practice-based clinical field experience beginning in the first semester in local school district classrooms under the tutelage of a skilled mentor teacher
    • Capstone student teaching experience offering five days per week for 15 weeks in a classroom as a lead teacher under the supervision of an expert cooperating teacher
