Two Types of DDP Sessions

The Traditional Model

For most of its existence, DDP sessions were held at the Center for Multicultural Affairs and Inclusive Education located in the Multicultural House (the little white house located on 96 Normal street). In the “traditional” DDP model, participating professors make DDP participation available to students as a course-requirement or as an extra-credit option. With this model, students sign up for one of several weekly sessions (today this done online on the DDP homepage). ‘Dialogue’ sessions last 60 minutes, serve up to 15 and as few as 5 participants/ They guided by two trained and student co-facilitators.

The Roadshow

More recently, we have added the “Roadshow” model. With this variant, DDP facilitators visit college classrooms to conduct ‘dialogue’ sessions (professors are not in attendance). Here, students attend DDP conversations during regularly scheduled class periods and there is no need to sign-up to participate. With large class, we use up to three co-facilitators.
